What is end of life care?
‘The care, treatment and support that is provided to enable a person with an advanced, progressive, incurable illness to live as well as possible before they die. It also covers the management of pain and other symptoms, the provision of psychological, social, spiritual and practical support and support for the family into bereavement’
NEOLC Programme 2011
Lauriem Complete Care Ltd are committed to supporting people at this stage of their life and staff undertake training to develop their knowledge and skills. Through this training, staff are made aware of the importance of effective communication, good listening skills and treating people as individuals with dignity and respect. Person centred care plans are developed and reviewed regularly to identify the specific needs and preferences of the service user.
This type of care provision is not suited to all staff, therefore those who support people with end of life care put themselves forward for this specialist training which ensures that Lauriem Complete Care Ltd have the appropriate staff in place to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team to achieve the outcomes identified in the service user’s care plan.
At Lauriem Complete Care Ltd, we endeavour to provide service users with choice and support through the care pathway towards the end of their life.
